(October 31, 2005) Hydroid
is pleased to announce the recent hiring of Fred Morrison
for the position of Technical Writer and Vito Bliudnikas
for the position of Senior Program Manager. Both individuals
have extensive experience in their perspective areas
of expertise.
Fred hit the ground running early
in the month of October and will assume responsibility
for writing and maintaining all operations and maintenance
manuals. Recent Hydroid contracts with the US Navy require
completely updated and unique Operations & Maintenance
manuals which will become Fred’s responsibility.
Before joining Hydroid Fred was employed as a technical
writer at Waters Corporation in Milford, MA. He holds
a BS degree in Environmental Sciences from the University
of Massachusetts.
Vito joined the company primarily
to program manage several large government contracts.
He has over twenty-five years of experience in the development,
design, assembly and test of military and commercial
electronic and sensing systems. He has experience in
engineering management, systems / project engineering
and circuit design engineering. Before joining Hydroid
he was employed as a senior engineer at Tekelec in Hyannis,
MA. He holds a BS in electrical engineering from Cornell
University.
Commenting on the recent hiring of
both Fred and Vito, Kevin McCarthy, vp of marketing
stated that “Both Fred and Vito are joining us
at a pivotal point in our development as we transition
additional REMUS technologies from the Woods Hole Oceanographic
Institution into Hydroid. The next several years will
be exciting growth years for Hydroid and both Fred and
Vito will be instrumental to our continued success.”
Hydroid Inc. holds the exclusive license
from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution for the
manufacture and further development of the REMUS Autonomous
Underwater Vehicle (AUV) technology.
