Hydroid Signs Five-Year Contract with Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO)
Hydroid to Provide NAVOCEANO with Spares, Service and Support for REMUS (Remote Environmental Measuring UnitS) Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs)

Pocasset, MA - Hydroid, LLC, a leading manufacturer of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles, announced today that it has signed a five-year contract with the Naval Oceanographic Office (NAVOCEANO).  Hydroid will provide NAVOCEANO with spare parts, service and support for the organization’s one REMUS 100 and three REMUS 6000 AUVs.   

NAVOCEANO acquires and analyzes global ocean and littoral data to provide specialized, operationally significant products and services for all elements within the Department of Defense.

Hydroid's REMUS AUVs can be fitted with a number of different types of sensors and cameras and have been used to aid in hydrographic surveys, harbor security operations, debris field mapping and scientific sampling and mapping.  Hydroid’s AUVs are currently being used by many navies around the world, including the U.S. Navy, Royal Navy, Royal Netherlands Navy, Singapore Navy, NATO Undersea Research Centre, Royal New Zealand Navy, Belgian Navy and German Navy Test Lab.
