REMUS MEETS & GREETS THE SECRETARY OF THE NAVY

During October 2004 the Secretary of the Navy, The Honorable Gordon R. England, visited the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Panama City, Florida.

IN-WATER DEMONSTRATIONS OF REMUS AT NUWC, NEWPORT, RI

Hydroid personnel fulfilled this contractual obligation by conducting these in-water demonstrations at the Naval Underwater Warfare Center in Newport, Rhode Island to a group of Government representatives.

REMUS DEMONSTRATION FOR KOREAN REPRESENTATIVES

During September 2004, Hydroid conducted REMUS demonstrations for several representatives of the Republic of Korea.

REMUS TRIALS IN ROTTERDAM HARBOR, THE NETHERLANDS

During June 2004 the NATO Undersea Research Centre, La Spezia, Italy, in cooperation with the Netherlands Navy, and Hydroid, conducted a week of REMUS trials in Rotterdam Harbor, with the goal of assessing the applicability of the technology for a range of port and harbor security requirements.

REMUS TRAVELS TO FINLAND

During May 2004 Hydroid’s Jack Crosby and Kevin McCarthy, assisted by Niels Vase from EIVA, Hydroid’s Scandinavian representative, spent a week in Hanko Finland conducting REMUS trials with the Finnish Navy.

GERMAN NAVY TEST LABORATORY TRAINING SESSION

During March 2004 Hydroid’s Jack Crosby traveled to Eckernfoerde, Germany, to conduct a week of operational training to representatives of the German Navy Test Laboratory.

NOAA's REMUS TRAINING SESSION

In April 2004, Hydroid’s Jack Crosby conducted a one week training session for representatives of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

NATO UNDERSEA RESEARCH CENTRE (NURC)

Hydroid Inc. received a follow up contract to a recent order for two REMUS systems sold to the Nato Undersea Research Centre (NURC), in La Spezia, Italy. In March 2004, Hydroid personnel traveled to Italy to conduct a week of REMUS trials in the waters around La Spezia.

U.S. NAVY DEMONSTRATION

The U.S. Navy’s second contracted High Speed Vessel (HSV) 2 SWIFT visited Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, 5-10 February to showcase the latest platform being used in support of the Department of Defense’s transformational experiment.

SCANDINAVIAN DEMONSTRATIONS

Niels Vase of EIVA, Hydroid's representative in Scandinavia prepares to depart to deploy the REMUS off Saltsjobaden, Sweden. In October, EIVA assisted Hydroid's Eric Gifford and Kevin McCarthy in conducting demonstrations to representatives of the Swedish, Danish and Finnish navies.
